Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Went to see the new Batman movie (trailer here) with the husband yesterday.  We had finished running all our errands earlier than expected and in the spur of the moment decided to catch a show at Al Fanar.  (Off topic, the plumbing in the ladies' restroom is weird.  Opening one tap at the sink causes all the other taps to open too!  Huh?)

I'm not quite sure what to think.  Overall, I enjoyed it, but the movie was just lacking in general.  Yes, the Man of Steel takes on Batman.  We're promised a good fight and it certainly delivers with some good action coupled with the usual bells & whistles.  But to be honest, I'm just not all that convinced that the fight needed to happen in the first place and my husband was trying to explain it to me while walking out of the theatre.

Superman to Batman "I need your help".  Batman doesn't listen and attacks Superman with sonic waves.  Superman to Batman again "you don't understand... I came for help, Lex Luthor..."  Batman has no time to listen again and sends a volley of bullets towards Superman.  This fight goes back and forth until Batman unleashes his Kryptonite bullets.  Superman is about to die in the hands of Batman and Superman manages to squeak out something about saving his mother Martha.  Why couldn't he just have mentioned this at the very beginning!?  Batman is confused as Martha was his late mother's name as well.  Of course, Lois Lane now makes her timely arrival and explains everything and Superman's life is saved for the time being.  Yay!

Batman has a sudden change of heart and the two now team up against Lex Luthor and his monstrous creation to save Martha.  Wonder Woman makes an appearance to help the duo and the three of them battle it out against the monster.  There's also a Kryptonite spear in the mix.  The End.

Of course there's much more to the movie and it is a lot better than I'm making it out to be.  A good one to see at the theatre once, but to be honest, I was bored and ended up going through my movie snacks a little too quickly.
