Wella SP Balance Scalp Energy Serum

I'm all about hair serums.  Maybe its because I abuse my hair so much, woes of a curly haired girl, but I'm always on the lookout for that magical serum that will nourish and strengthen my hair and hopefully redo some of the heat damage I submit it to.

This serum came highly recommended and was given to me by a friend to try out.  I've been using it thrice a week for the past 10 weeks and now that I've used up the very last drop, I thought I'd post my thoughts on it.   Wella's SP Balance Scalp Energy Serum promises to make thinning hair stronger and reduces hair loss by up to 50%.  That's some pretty lofty claims!

To be honest though, I didn't notice any dramatic changes to my hair.  I think my hair looks healthy, but I feel its just in my head as I really wanted the product to work.  Maybe I'm putting to many expectations on a serum, but I wanted there to be a noticeable change.  I needed to be able to stop traffic and have everyone ask if I was using something different.  I guess the only way to really measure this is to monitor how much hair I lose every day and unfortunately, I still see the same amount of hair going down the drain.  Maybe in the long run, with continuous usage, this will help, but just over the course of 10 weeks?  Nada.

On the plus side though, I loved using this serum and I looked forward to massaging it into my scalp after I washed my hair.  The serum contains menthol which soothes and brings about this immediate cooling effect.  It sure was a treat using it, especially after a long swim in chlorinated water.

The consistency is exactly like water and it dries with no residue at all.  I hate serums that leave a tell-tale sign.  It is quite strongly scented, almost perfume like, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I actually loved it.  Comes with a dropper too, which is handy as it helps to evenly distribute the serum all over your scalp.

On feelunique.com, this retails for £25 for a 100ml bottle, but the website has just increased the minimum order from just £10 to £60 in order to qualify for free shipping, but that’s a rant for another day.  The site regularly has sales so wait for that, or use this sign up link to get 15% off your first order.

Overall, its a good princess product.  The cooling effect was magical, which was why I kept reaching for this, but I didn't see any noticeable differences to my hair.  I'd love to repurchase this though and see how the serum performs over a longer duration.
