The Musical Fountain at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre

For New Year's Eve, we decided to check out the musical fountain over at the newly opened Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Cultural Centre (location here).  The line of cars waiting to go inside the parking lot was pretty much at a stand still though and so we just parked opposite the Cultural Centre and walked it instead.  I say it like it was a absolute breeze walking over, but we ended up brisk walking for around 10 minutes (not an easy feat to do in high heeled boots!) to get to the entrance.  Heads up, the entrance to the Cultural Centre is right opposite the Catholic church and not near the beautiful geometric buildings you see on the Gulf Road, like I'd idiotically assumed.  Whoops! 

Anyway, the musical fountains were gorgeous and for a brief span of time, I felt like I'd been transported out of Kuwait.  (Isn't there supposed to be a musical fountain at Al Kout and another near the Ice Skating Rink?  Not sure..) 

It is a pity, that the official website for the Cultural Centre (http://jacc-kw.com/) doesn't have any information about the fountain show times (or maybe I just can't find it!), but from what I've learned, the musical fountain shows are on the hour from 2-6 pm and then every half hour from 6 pm onward. 

There is also a line of restaurants alongside the fountains so you can stop and have a bite.  We were unfortunately quoted a waiting time of 2 hours (it was New Year's Eve after all) for a Persian restaurant I'd wanted to try out so I'll definitely need to come back sometime soon for that.
