The 41st Kuwait International Book Fair

Thank you to all the lovely ladies in the Expat Mums in Kuwait Facebook group and of course to LWDLIK for posting about the book fair.  After hearing everyone gush about all the books they had hauled, I just had to pass by. 

The book fair is in Halls 5, 6 and 7 at the Mishref International Fair Grounds (map here).  Parking is a bit of a pain and so as Mark from 248am had suggested (thank you!), we parked over at Hall 8 and just walked over.  Not a good day to wear heels mind you.  Though there was a cute little train to drop off customers at various "train stations" dotted across the parking lots. 

We made a beeline straight for the English books which are in Hall 6 and didn't bother checking out the other halls.  The books are priced equivalent to the USD and GBP prices printed on the books.  I actually expected the fair to have even cheaper prices, but when you think about it, they're cheaper than the bookstores here in Kuwait so you're still getting a good deal!  Despite having started last weekend, there is still a huge collection of books for all ages and I picked up a couple for my girls.  There were also lots of craft and activity kits and I even spotted a few adult colouring books if anyone's interested. 

They will be open till November 26 (this Saturday) and their working hours are from 9 am to 1 pm and  4:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Fridays from 4 pm to 10 pm. 

There's also a few food stalls just outside the halls if you're feeling peckish.  Pass by and check it out.
