The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi-Protection EssenceSunday, August 07, 2016
I'd been on the hunt for a good SPF for quite some time, which you can can read all about here. And so, after reading my favourite beauty blogger, The Sunday Girl, rave about The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence, I just had to get my hands on it. I spent the next few months stalking my nearest store and now that its finally released in the Middle East, I can say right here, right now that I absolutely love this sunscreen.
This sunscreen has a protection factor of SPF 50 PA ++++ and protects against both UVA and UVB rays. By the way, PA ++++ is the highest protection factor achievable against UVA rays.
But enough of that. This isn't just any old sunscreen. As expected from any of The Body Shop products, the Skin Defence also cares for and treats your skin and contains red algae and vitamin C to brighten, resulting in a more luminous complexion. It also has anti-oxidants to help protect the skin from environmental pollution.
Despite boasting an SPF 50, the Skin Defence is an ultralight milk to water formula that absorbs instantly with no tell tale white cast. Can I get an Amen? It dries to an invisible matte finish, providing a smooth canvas for makeup. Its non-sticky, non-greasy texture is perfect for any skin type and will change the way you look at sunscreens all together. It also has a very mild fragrance, which won't irritate even the most sensitive of skin.
My only critique for the Skin Defence, and a valid one at that, is the price tag. The Skin Defence has been termed as an affordable sunscreen by bloggers around the world and at just £16 it definitely is! However, for some strange reason, it has been priced at 12 KD (£30) in Kuwait, which is an 87% hike in price! Seriously, not everyone in Kuwait has an oil well in their back yard and it angers me at just how much I have to dish out for products that are supposed to be on the affordable end of the scale.
Having said that though, The Body Shop's Skin Defence is the sunscreen for you. Lightweight and undetectable with amazing protection to boot, I seriously couldn't ask for more from a sunscreen.
Have you tried the Skin Defence? What are your must try sunscreen recommendations?
